Rogue
Rogues are stealthy melee assassins who strike from the shadows with daggers and swords. They excel at single-target damage and bring unique utility through interrupts, stuns, and crowd control. In TBC, Rogues are solid melee DPS with one of the highest skill ceilings in the game.
How It Feels to Play
Playing a Rogue in TBC is about precision and timing. You're a melee class, but unlike a Warrior who charges in swinging, you pick your moments. Stealth lets you choose when and how to engage, Kick interrupts critical spells, and Blind can save a wipe. You're the surgical instrument in a group full of sledgehammers.
The energy system sets the rhythm of your play. You generate energy at a steady rate, spend it on combo-point builders, then unleash finishers. It's a constant cycle of build-spend that keeps you engaged. Unlike rage, energy is predictable — you always know when you'll have enough for your next ability, which makes planning ahead feel rewarding.
TBC is a bit of a mixed bag for Rogues. You're no longer the undisputed melee DPS king — Fury Warriors, Enhancement Shamans, and even Retribution Paladins compete for melee spots. Raid encounters also have more AoE and cleave, which hurts your single-target focus. But a skilled Rogue still brings elite DPS and irreplaceable utility. Your kicks and stuns on key targets can make or break encounters.
