Restoration Druid
A HoT-based healer in Tree of Life Form that excels at sustained raid healing and mana efficiency.
How It Feels to Play
Restoration Druid is the heal-over-time specialist. You shift into Tree of Life Form, which reduces the mana cost of your HoTs and increases healing received by your party. Then you blanket the raid with Rejuvenation, Lifebloom, and Regrowth, keeping a constant stream of healing rolling on everyone.
The playstyle is proactive rather than reactive. You're putting HoTs on people before they take damage, not after. Lifebloom is your signature spell, a stacking HoT that blooms (heals for a big chunk) when it falls off or you let it expire. Managing Lifebloom stacks on the tank while keeping Rejuvenation rolling on the raid is the core of your gameplay.
Resto Druids are excellent raid healers and always in demand. You bring Innervate for another healer's mana, Battle Res for clutch mid-fight recoveries, and your HoTs are incredibly mana-efficient. The downside is that you lack a strong direct heal. If someone is at 10% health and needs immediate healing, a Priest or Paladin will save them faster than your HoTs can. But as a sustained, preventative healer, nobody does it better.

HoT healing is incredibly mana-efficient, and Battle Res is unique. Every raid wants 1-2 Resto Druids. With the low Druid population, Resto Druids are among the most in-demand specs in TBC.

8/0/5353 into Restoration for Tree of Life, 8 into Balance for Control of Nature (pushback resistance for Healing Touch). Tree of Life Form is your standard state. It reduces HoT costs and buffs healing. Stack Lifebloom on the tank (3 stacks, keep refreshing). Blanket the raid with Rejuvenation. Use Swiftmend for emergencies. Pop out of Tree Form for Nature's Swiftness + Healing Touch if someone needs a massive direct heal.
Stat Priority
+Healing directly increases your HoT ticks and Lifebloom bloom. MP5 sustains your constant HoT refreshing. Intellect gives mana pool and crit (Regrowth crits). Spirit helps with regen, especially combined with Intensity talent for in-combat regen. Haste can help in emergencies.
